What does Inkling actually do?
As you type, it predicts the rest of your phrase or sentence and shows it as faint ghost text. Press Tab to accept. It works in most apps where you write.
What is the typing shelf?
A floating bar you summon with a shortcut, by default Option and Space. It opens over any app with Inkling predictions ready, even where inline ghost text cannot reach. Type a line, press Return, and it drops into wherever your cursor was. It runs on your Mac like everything else.
Is my text really private?
Yes. The language model runs on your Mac. Your writing is never uploaded, and there is no server that sees what you type.
Which Macs are supported?
Any Mac running macOS 14 (Sonoma) or later, on Apple silicon or Intel.
How many Macs does one license cover?
Up to three. Activate the same license key on each, and remove a Mac from inside the app if you want to free a slot.
Do I get updates?
Yes. A paid license includes every future update, major versions included. Buy once, keep getting better.
What is the difference between free and paid?
Quality is identical. Free gives you 100 accepted completions a day. Paid removes the daily limit.
